How to Apply to Chemeketa as an International Student

Application Process
In order to be considered for admission to Chemeketa you will want to complete the following steps –
- Submit your International student application
We will be launching our new online application soon for students interested in the Fall 2022 forward. In the meantime you can review the document above to prepare your required admission documents. Applications submitted before the deadlines are processed within a week of receipt. The visa appointment deadline is the last date by which we recommend students should schedule an appointment with the embassy in their home country to obtain their visa on time. - Submit documents
To determine which documents we need you to submit, please refer to the list provided on the application. - Review process
Once we have received your documents we will review them and provide you an admission answer within a week of receiving your completed documents. - Issue acceptance letter and I-20
We will issue your Acceptance letter and your new I-20, these will be mailed to you directly from Chemeketa. - Schedule Visa appointment
Once you receive your documents from Chemeketa, you will need to schedule a visa appointment with the U.S. Embassy. - Submit housing and arrival forms
Submit your housing and arrival forms to gain priority on your housing preference (if you are interested in our Homestay program). Keep in mind that Chemeketa offers free airport pick up on our official arrival dates. - Attend orientation
Plan to attend our Mandatory Orientation for the term you have been accepted. On Orientation days we provide registration, language level testing, campus tours, U.S. immigration and regulation information, and a resource team for all incoming international students.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION
- No TOEFL or IELTS scores are required for admissions
- Chemeketa offers comprehensive language and college level studies and can accept students at all levels
- Test scores submitted during the admissions process are used for advising placement purposes only
- All students who enter Chemeketa will take required English and/or college placement tests during orientation

PART-TIME CLASSES
Chemeketa offers opportunities for international students who may need to take a class at Chemeketa while maintaining student status at another institution. In order to be considered for concurrent registration at Chemeketa, you will want to follow the steps below:
- Submit your brief International student part-time application
Applications submitted before the deadlines are processed within a week of receipt. - Submit documentation
Submit the appropriate documentation based on your situation. To determine which documents we need you to submit, please refer to the list provided on the application. - Select classes
Indicate to us what class/classes you will like to register for and if the class is online or in person. - Review process
Once we have received your documents we will review them and provide you an admission answer within a week of receiving your completed documents. - Pre-pay for classes
You will need to pre-pay for the class or classes you are interested in registering for at Chemeketa before you can officially register. - Schedule appointment
Keep in mind that if you are trying to register for a class with prerequisites, we recommend you schedule an appointment with our office to review your eligibility to register for those classes. You will want to bring a transcript that demonstrates you have fulfilled the prerequisites for the course.
