A story of perseverance

MEET FRANCISCO

"My goal is that I hope to inspire and motivate people who live with any type of disability and encourage people with vision loss to pursue a degree of their choice."

Francisco story

Francisco earned his high school diploma from Hadley Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Before that, he ran into obstacles in his educational journey due to the lack of equipment he needed as a blind man. He was introduced to Chemeketa and decided to pursue an associate’s degree in computer science in the cybersecurity field. This is enriching his love of electronics. “My goal is that I hope to inspire and motivate people who live with any type of disability and encourage people with vision loss to pursue a degree of their choice. If I can do it, they can, too. Chemeketa is a great college to attend and one of the best in Oregon.”

Since the first day he started taking classes at Chemeketa, Francisco has gained a lot of information about computers. He is proud to be part of Chemeketa because of the great resources offered to students, helpful instructors, and everyone being friendly.
